Video Production Intern – Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire – Full Time but will consider Part Time

We are seeking a creative and motivated Video Production Intern to join our marketing team on a short-term placement (2–3 months, depending on the candidate’s availability). This role offers hands-on experience in filming, editing, and producing professional product videos for our websites, social media platforms, and marketing campaigns. 

About the Role 

You will work closely with our marketing and engineering teams to plan, shoot, and edit engaging video content showcasing our products, manufacturing processes, and applications.  

The role will be based at our SST Sensing offices and manufacturing site in Coatbridge, however, travel to other sites within the organisation may be required.  

Use of own video equipment is welcome if you prefer; however, we do have the following available for your use: Camera, Lightbox, Tripod for the camera and phone, Rotating display stand, Standing lights, and White screen. 

This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate looking to gain industry experience, develop a portfolio, and work in a real-world production environment. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Plan, script, and storyboard product video concepts in collaboration with the marketing team. 

  • Film high-quality footage of products, manufacturing processes, and application demonstrations. 

  • Edit and produce videos suitable for web, social media, and trade show use. 

  • Ensure brand consistency across all video content. 

  • Capture and edit product photography where required. 

  • Manage file organisation and maintain an archive of raw footage and finished projects. 

  • Assist with lighting, sound, and set preparation for filming. 

About You 

Essential: 

  • Currently studying or recently completed a course in film production, media, marketing, or a related field. 

  • Knowledge of video production techniques, including camera operation, lighting, and sound. 

  • Experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro. 

  • Knowledge of optimising videos for different platforms (e.g., YouTube, LinkedIn). 

  • Strong attention to detail and a creative eye for visual storytelling. 

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. 

  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively. 

Desirable: 

  • Graphic design ability (e.g., Illustrator, Canva) for creating supporting visuals. 

  • Storytelling and copywriting skills for scripting and captions. 

  • Awareness of SEO for video (keywords, metadata, thumbnails).
