Mobile Developer (iOS), 1 Year Full time starting summer, Edinburgh

The role of a Developer within our company is to work closely with Product Design, Customer Service, Quality Assurance and Management to deliver the best application experience possible to our clients and their users. Often working on multiple projects in parallel, we are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and appreciates working in a modern environment where the goal is constant improvement across everything that we do.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the development of new products on the iOS platform
- Be involved in the evolution of existing products on the iOS platform
- Work closely with Customer Service staff who are the primary interface to our customers
- Provide technical guidance to the Quality Assurance team in support of their testing activities
- Work closely with Support to resolve customer's issues
- Contribute to all aspects of the development cycle of our dynamic products
- Translating high-level requirements from our customers into a software designs
- Effectively apply our methodologies to all projects
- Ensure project documentation is completed in a timely manner
- Effectively communicate relevant project information to superiors
- Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on client engagements.
- Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
- An ability to work precisely while under pressure
- An ability to accurately estimate development effort
- An ability to accurately and consistently report progress
- Commitment to the Placement Role and to the business is crucial to ensure a successful working relationship
Desirable Technical Skills & Experience
- Experience in developing applications for the iOS platform
- Development skills in some of the following technologies: iOS, C++, Objective C, MySQL, PHP, Java
- Experience working with Software Configuration Tools/Version Control Systems such as Git
- Experience working with Bug Tracking platforms such as Bugzilla
- Experience working with software development methodologies such as Agile, SDLC or Waterfall
- Experience developing data driven applications using Server Side technologies
- Experience integrating with 3rd party SDKs Experience integrating with Server Side APIs/Web Services
- An understanding of the intricacies of memory management on mobile devices
- A mature approach to testing, ideally with experience working with Testing/QA teams
