An Introduction to e-Placement

An Introduction to e-Placement Scotland

Looking for additional IT staff? Ever considered trialling a talented work student?

As the trade body that networks and promotes the digital technologies industry in Scotland, ScotlandIS represents over 300 software, telecoms, IT and digital media businesses; from global players to small highly specialist companies.

Our members told us that access to skills was one of the industry's biggest issues, so we set up the e-Placement Scotland programme - with employers very much in mind.

We're here to simplify your experience of setting up flexible IT placements for students from universities and colleges across Scotland.

These can last from three months to a year and cover a range of IT disciplines, depending on the needs of your business. Placement students will have been studying a variety of computing, software engineering and other IT-related courses and learning about up-to-the minute IT developments.

Over half of all students who undertake placements are offered a permanent job by their employer when they graduate.

Our aim is to match students with relevant work placements to meet industry demands. Through this valuable work experience, students will increase their employability skills and gain a greater understanding of workplace challenges.

For employers, this innovative approach could significantly aid with longer term growth and recruitment strategy.
