ScotlandIS Scholarship in partnership with The Education Academy Scotland

Since launching in 2023, the ScotlandIS Scholarship, in partnership with The Education Academy Scotland, has supported 42 young people—including 20 students this year—to complete National 5 and Higher Maths qualifications. 

Following the success of the programme, we are now looking for sponsors for our 2026/27 cohorts. 

Nurturing Scotland’s future talent pipeline has never been more important: 

• 84% of Scottish technology businesses expect their sales to grow in 2026, creating continued demand for skilled people. 

• Across Scotland, 58% of employers identify recruiting the right talent as a key challenge, while 51% are concerned about skills shortages within their existing teams. 

• Women represented just 20.7% of Scottish Computing Science National Course entries in 2025, underlining the importance of helping a broader and more diverse group of young people see STEM as a realistic option. 

Sponsoring the ScotlandIS Scholarship is an opportunity to take practical action. 

As well as receiving brand visibility, sponsors can engage directly with students, introduce them to the range of careers available across technology and share the work their organisation is doing. There may also be opportunities to welcome the cohort into your workplace, helping young people see first-hand what a career in the sector could look like. 

Whether you sponsor an individual student or a full cohort, your organisation can: 

• nurture Scotland’s future STEM and technology talent pipeline; 

• build awareness of careers within your business and the wider sector; 

• support greater diversity and inclusion in STEM; 

• create meaningful engagement between your employees and young people; and 

• demonstrate clear, measurable social value and CSR impact.
