Our in-house software development service enables University colleagues and external collaborators to leverage software development skills at an affordable rate. Software development work is delivered by our students, overseen by a professional software engineering team. Students benefit from gaining real-world experience while customers can access a custom-designed solution that is cost-effective and built to their unique specifications.
Close coordination between the customer and student is maintained by the project manager through regular meetings to make sure requirements are properly recorded and fulfilled. We incorporate a flexible approach to allow customers to change project specifications during the lifecycle of the project.
About the role
Earn money while gaining design work experience with a digital agency
We need student User Experience (UX) designers to work on exciting new projects at Glasgow University Software Service (GUSS).
GUSS is an in-house software development agency based at the University of Glasgow. We hire student designers and student software developers to deliver commissioned websites, webapps and mobile apps. Teams are led and supported by professional project managers.
If you're looking to level-up your work experience and have a range of skills that can contribute to the design of web and/or mobile applications, please get in-touch. We are particularly looking for people with a strong interest in UX design, branding and logo design, product design and interaction design, so be sure to highlight these on your CV. We value how your experience and portfolio matches our requirements above the discipline you are studying.
You'll get paid as a university employee at Grade 4 (£12/hr), receive experience on real world projects and become a better designer and team player through the process. You must have a the right to live and work in the UK to apply and be available to work between 10 - 20 hours per week.
About you
Interested in applying, you must be a current student in a design related course, some graphic/web user interface deign experience would be beneficial.
