We are looking for students or those in the early stages of their career to join our Summer Internship Programme 2026, a 3-month paid Internship between June and August 2026.
About the role:
Our combined Computed Tomography (CT) and Healthcare Informatics Technology (HIT) Team have a project focussing on Software Engineering and Medical Data Management. This provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to develop skills in designing, implementing, and validating medical software systems, as well as gaining hands-on experience with clinical imaging data workflows.
About you
Applications are welcomed from students of the following disciplines:
- Computer Science / Artificial Intelligence / Software Engineering / Informatics / Mathematics / Physics / Engineering / Machine Learning / Medical Imaging
You should be at the following stage of your studies to apply:
- Third year (entering final year after the summer) or final year undergraduates
- Early-stage postgraduate students (MSc or PhD)
- Digital skills academy graduate from Data Analysis or Software Development course
Relevant skills for these projects are knowledge one programming language like Java/C#/C++/Python and basic knowledge of UI programming.

Following the closing date, a shortlist will be drawn up and successful candidates contacted to proceed to the next stage of the recruitment process.
The placements are planned to commence on Monday 1st June 2026, although there is flexibility in this. The internships will adopt a hybrid working approach between our Edinburgh office and home working. Based on recent feedback from previous interns, some time working in the office should be expected to fully benefit from the experience.
Candidates are welcome to apply for more than one of our internship projects if they have a genuine interest in multiple topics.
