Placement summary
Visual Performance Management creates software for capture and visualization of real-time production data from manufacturing lines.
They are seeking a 12-week student placement to develop key elements of the software including a data collection module, dashboard and mobile app. The position will be based at the Modus Scotland Office in Alloa.

Project Description
The student will develop essential elements of the software to maximize the impact of the product offered to the customer.
Role Description
Specific tasks of the placement will include:
- Developing the data collection module for transfer of data from production equipment into the VPM software.
- Designing the dashboard for visualizing the overall performance of multiple stations on a manufacturing site.
- Testing the dashboard and collating feedback.
- Starting the process of creating a mobile app.
This position is part funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the European Regional Development Fund.
Qualifications
Open to all current HNC, HND and undergraduate degree students who will return to their studies after the summer. Qualifications related to Computing Science/Software Engineering or equivalent, however other candidates will be considered provided they have the required skills.
Skills / Experience
Essential Skills
- Ability to develop in Visual Studio suite
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL server databases
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS
- Pro-active and able to work under own initiative
- Good communication skills.
- Commitment to project completion
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge or experience of manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of developing mobile apps
