Electronics Engineering / Hardware Intern, 3 or 6 months, London, 2019

A Summer 2019 Internship with BBOXX, an opportunity to change the world.

BBOXX designs, manufactures, distributes and finances innovative plug & play utility systems to improve access to energy across Africa and the developing world.

Our 2 options for Summer Internships start from the end of March (6 months internships) and the end of June (2-3 month internships)
During this time you will have strong support from your line manager and extended team. Plus regular “check-ins” with your fellow interns.
You will have the opportunity to work on personal development, your study subject and exciting BBOXX projects.
During the internship we will work with you to consider future opportunities at BBOXX once you have finished your studies.

Title: Summer Internships 2019 - Hardware Roles

Reporting to: Senior Engineering Manager

Location: Chiswick, London

About the role

The hardware team at BBOXX are responsible for full end to end hardware development. The team have successfully launched several products and have 100K+ units already in the field.

The hardware engineers create PCB designs to ensure our products operate to spec, cost efficient and safe. Working collaboratively they ensure product creation meets mass production

You will work alongside a team of hardware engineers and firmware engineers design / develop, test and document new designs for our in-house products

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants: Electronics Engineering / Embedded Engineer (with strong focus on EE)

About you

  • Experience in using design tools (Altium) in circuit design and simulation and PCB layout
  • Solid understand of both analog and digital components
  • Understanding of embedded systems communications (UART, I2C etc..)
  • Strong lab skills, including the use of common test and measurement equipment to debug complex electronic circuits.
  • Solid communication skills both oral and written
  • Understanding in batteries and power supplies are a plus
