Why e-Placement Scotland?

e-Placement Scotland is a joint venture partnership between ScotlandIS and Edinburgh Napier University.

Over the last 9 years we have created over 2500 paid, digital technologies focussed placements.  We’re supported by industry, academia and backed by the Scottish Funding Council to create opportunities for you to kick start your career.

We aim to match you with employers offering paid, industry placements which could help secure your long-term future.

Our paid placements cover everything from data science to software development, mobile apps to telecoms...and everything in-between!

All of our placement opportunities are paid at least the National Minimum wage and can be either full or part time, anywhere from 3 – 12 months and in various locations across Scotland and beyond.

Are you eligible?

  • Are you currently registered at a Scottish University or further education establishment?
  • Are you working towards a qualification in computer science, or related disciplines?
  • Are you looking for a Scottish based placement to further your knowledge and gain some experience?
  • Are you planning to complete your studies after your placement finished?

If you can answer yes to these questions, we can help

As our name suggests our placements are generally based in Scotland and are geared towards those studying computer science and related disciplines.

Our placements are only offered to students who will be returning to study once their placement is complete.  We feel strongly that completing your degree programme offers you the best possible future, and so positions advertised are not available to those students who will not be returning to study once the placement is completed, those who are about to graduate or those who have already graduated.

International Students

If you are an international student with a current Tier 4 visa and passport you may also be eligible to take up a work placement (certain conditions do need to be met). Please visit our International Students' section on our website for further details.

Advice, Hints and Tips ...

We aim to offer tailored advice on everything from writing your CV and Cover Letter to preparing for interviews, as well as interesting blog articles on things like filling in application forms and attending assessment centres.

If the advice you’re looking for isn’t covered, don’t worry, just drop us an email and we will help.  We’ve been doing this for 9 years now, so we will hopefully have the answer!
