Software Engineering Intern (Data / Python), 3 or 6 months, London, 2019
A Summer 2019 Internship with BBOXX, an opportunity to change the world.
BBOXX designs, manufactures, distributes and finances innovative plug & play utility systems to improve access to energy across Africa and the developing world.
Our 2 options for Summer Internships start from the end of March (6 months internships) and the end of June (2-3 month internships)
During this time you will have strong support from your line manager and extended team. Plus regular “check-ins” with your fellow interns.
You will have the opportunity to work on personal development, your study subject and exciting BBOXX projects.
During the internship we will work with you to consider future opportunities at BBOXX once you have finished your studies.

Location: Chiswick, London
About the role
The data management team at BBOXX are responsible for the IoT data pipeline from products to the backend. Our platform have 100K+ units actively connecting and trasmitting data already in the field.
You will work alongside a team of back-end engineers ensuring our IoT data pipeline is reliable, scales and is well tested. You will be adding new features, fixing issue and creating test and documentation to support your work

REQUIREMENTS
Applicants: Software Engineering / Computer Science
About you
- Solid Python experience in a backend server domain
- Linux scripting and fundamental understanding of Linux OS
- Understanding of RESTful API's
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Familiarity with AWS and IoT services is a plus
