About the company

SynGro develops and delivers software product which is made available for its customers to purchase on a user license fee basis. The software can be delivered via a variety of hosted or on premise solutions. SynGro operates a matrix management of complementary functions required to develop and deliver its software product, following a structured and standardised methodology. The delivery of the software product can include custom software development and standard product set up and configuration, including complex systems integration with both client systems and 3rd party technologies.

About the role

The role of “Software Developer” reports to the development leader and is required to perform software development activities for general R&D and product development. 


The Software developer will be responsible for the entire software development lifecycle in accordance with company policies and processes / procedures and importantly in line with SynGro strategy. A summary of responsibilities is listed below. SynGro reserves the right to change these from time to time. Individual and group objectives, accountabilities and performance targets shall be set through frequent performance reviews aimed at resetting and alignment with key business objectives (Performance management is described separately). Responsibilities include:-

  • Application design and development including: software module design and development
  • Database design and development
  • Configuration management
  • Unit, integration and user acceptance testing 
  • Ensure that all software developed meets the best practises for design, development, and usability, defined by SynGro Software development group.
  • Documentation preparation
  • Client Support
  • Working as part of project teams with project managers and consultants to define and deliver client solutions.
  • Producing project specific deliverables according to project milestones and quality requirements
  • Developing and implementing software quality standards and processes to support the software development lifecycle

Skills and Competencies

A successful candidate will have or shall be undertaking degree level education in a field relating to software development.  They shall be able to demonstrate a willingness to adopt and engage with new technologies and practices in keeping with industry developments.

They will show an enthusiasm for software development and take pride in their work; they should be able to work as part of a small dedicated team seeking to deliver the best possible technical and commercial outcomes for SynGro.

Candidate requirements


  • Familiarity with software development is essential, in particular suitable candidates should have an understanding of object orientated programming.

Experience with the following is advantageous but not essential:

  • SQL
  • C#
  • JavaScript


SynGro is looking for an enthusiastic student to work with the software development team to help with the development of our newly launched product.

The successful candidate will be involved with the following:

  • Application design and development including: software module design and development
  • Ensure that all software developed meets the best practises for design, development, and usability
  • Documentation preparation

SynGro is particularly interested in candidates who have an interest in software testing.

Additional information

SynGro is located off junction 3 of the M8, it is highly advantageous for a candidate to have personal transport as public transport to the office is limited.
