Smart Phone Exergame Placement Student, 12 weeks - June - August, £1100 per month, Edinburgh

  1. Basic purpose of the placement and its primary objectives
  • To develop multiplayer features for the FitQuest exergame on the Android platform, taking into account suggestions from existing users.
  1. Main duties:
  • Work with the FitQuest team to develop a specification for multiplayer mini-games for exercise
  • Design the interface and game mechanics with the team
  • Implement these designs for Android
  • Technical and user testing
  1. Knowledge and skills required:
  • Knowledge of programming technologies such as Java and object-oriented techniques
  • Experience of games development or mobile app development is desirable but not essential
  1. Person skills:
  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Confident and professional manner
  • Proactive
  • Team player
  1. Working conditions:
  • Based in office in Riccarton
  • Core working hours 10am – 4pm

FitQuest is a location based exergame for Android. Its purpose is to encourage children to take more physical activity.
