Join our product development team and get the chance to work as a software developer, coding in our world renowned software team. That’s right, doing code that real customers will use!

About the Company

Who are we?

You probably won’t have heard of us because we’re B2B, but if you think of any brand in the world they probably use our software. We’ve helped Nike, Ford, Apple, and the NHS and many, many more to transform the way they make decisions. And it’s not just about helping corporates increase their profit. Every day our users make a difference. In the last six months we have helped plan emergency overflow hospitals, launched effective drive through testing facilities and supported planning the vaccine roll out. There has never been a more critical time for our users to make informed decisions. Would you like to help them do that? Why are we the world leaders in simulation?

What do we do?

We are a software company, so our software is at the heart of everything we do. This makes the development work our team does absolutely critical to our success. We work incredibly hard to ensure Simul8 is the fastest, most intuitive and effective simulation software on the market. Our team lives and breathes simulation and works with our global community of users to continuously evolve our software. We really listen and care about our users and our team. This is a great opportunity to work in not only a development team, but a product development team where you’ll get the chance to listen to customers and help work out the best solutions for them.

About the role

What will you do?

We’re looking for you to work with our support and product development team on bug fixes and small improves for our users. We’re a small-ish team so it’s a great opportunity to see the full development life cycle. You’ll get the chance to take your improvements from design, to coding, through to testing and shipping. You’ll be assigned a mentor to bring you up to speed and to coach you through working on your first real life customer development projects. There is nothing like the thrill of seeing your feature go live and getting positive customer feedback! We are all working remotely just now so we can be completely flexible on hours and location. The most important thing is your degree, so we’ll work around that and any study commitments you have.

About you

What we’re looking for

We’re always on look out for new talent, so ultimately we’re on the look out for someone who we’d like to join our team when they graduate. More than half of our development team are former interns! So, what do we look for in our team members?

A self-starter.

You must be driven, focussed and pro-active to be as personally effective as possible. We will support you of course, but we don’t do micromanagement. We will expect you to be completely self-driven, full of initiative and ideas to help drive the development of our product forward.

User driven.

Everything starts and ends with our users, and creating the best possible experience for them. If you don’t get excited by what we do as a company and understand how important our software is to our users, this is the wrong place for you.

Passionate about technology.

Technology never stops and neither do we. In a competitive market, we need to keep our edge, constantly evaluating the right technologies that help us deliver for our customers. You must be comfortable doing what no-one else has done before.

We do everything we can to make work a pleasure such as Friday socials, yoga classes, flexible hours. And of course all our internships are paid.

You’ll receive £10.50/hr.
