Product Marketing Placement 2016 – Summer 2016 (10 weeks), Cambridge

About Redgate Software

Redgate Software makes the world's most trusted tools for shipping changes to your database. 91% of the Fortune 100 use Redgate’s tools.

Redgate brings the benefits of Database Lifecycle Management to your SQL Server databases. With tools for source control, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and schema and server monitoring, you get safe releases, efficient development, and fast feedback.

Redgate is renowned as a great place to work, appearing in the Sunday Times Top 100 Small Companies list for seven years in a row.

Redgate is looking for a Marketing Intern to support the product marketing team. You’ll work closely with other product marketers, Redgate’s internal marketing agency, product managers and the development team.

Job Description

Reporting to the Product Marketing Manager, you’ll be involved in a range of marketing activities. For example, you’d be responsible for carrying out tactical marketing activities such as social media promotions, working with influencers in the community and spreading the message about Redgate’s free tools. It’s key that you have an analytical mindset and a passion for technology. You’ll need to develop a good understanding of some of Redgate’s tools, the market and customers’ needs quickly.

One of the key responsibilities for any product marketer is to develop product positioning and messaging. You’ll be involved in reviewing product positioning, and your findings will be used to decide what changes need to be made to make the tools resonate well with Redgate’s audience.

Your exact responsibilities will be confirmed closer to the time as Redgate’s plans are constantly evolving, but this should give you a good feel for the kinds of projects you’ll be involved in.

Desired Attributes

You’re approachable and have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.

  • You have exceptional organisational skills and are comfortable multi-tasking and juggling a number of different projects or tasks at the same time.
  • High attention to detail.
  • You get stuff done. You’re self-motivated with a can-do attitude and think creatively when it comes to overcoming problems or blockers.
  • You have an analytical mind-set and a desire to measure the success of your marketing activities.
  • You’re passionate about technology and have a desire to work in the tech industry.

If you’ve got a technical background, have worked in a technical role before or are working towards degree in a technical subject such as computer science, Redgate would love to hear from you. It’s not a must for a product marketing role at Redgate, but it’s a clear advantage as you’ll work closely with the development team and have to develop a deep understanding of the tools Redgate sell.

Package and Benefits

  • You’ll be working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible hours.
  • You’ll receive £380 per week.
  • You’ll start in June or July for a minimum of ten weeks over the summer holiday.
  • You’ll get some great Redgate benefits, including:
    • A relaxed and professional environment
    • No dress code
    • Free parking
    • Free breakfast and lunch
