Digital Development Officer, Isle of Tiree or remote working, 6 weeks
Salary: £7.85 per hour for 35 hours per week

Achievements - Community Wind Turbine with average annual profit of around £150k, successful operation of community broadband service with 130 customers, successful youth project, 5 years running. Successful operation of The Windfall Fund (community grant programme). Current & Future Projects - Commuity Land Ownership project - investigating the feasibility of and aquiring key island land and assets for community benefit. Harbour Development Project - initially concentrating on Fishing and Leisure facilities.
Role:
Consultation - consult staff and directors to asses requirements, consult focus group of users for feedback on current sites. * Research - investigate options for improving the websites and creating strategy * Report - Write a report to the board with recommended actions and a draft digital communications strategy * Implement - Carry out agreed updates to websites and finalise strategy document
Person Specification:
Essential Skills:
1. Ideally holds a degree, or is working towards a degree, in IT/Communications
2. Practical experience of web design and different CMS systems
3. Able to work on own initiative or as part of a team
4. Good writing skills
Desirable Skills
1. Understanding of marketing & social media
2. Experience of working in a small/rural community environment
3. Experience of supporting others to learn new skills
4. Good working understanding of how to blog effectively
